Joe Kennedy’s Southwest Half-trek
Timing is everything in photography.

We rise early in the morning to catch the first light of the day's sunrise and we stay late in the evening to make sure the magic hour at the end of the day has been recorded.

But there are those events that happen when one's plans go awry. I had carefully mapped out my itinerary to photograph ten of our national parks and several other areas of the Southwest over the course of thirty-one days. What I did not plan on was the government shutting down halfway through my adventure.

As you will see by the imagery during my half-trek, I still managed to capture stunning vistas and impressive land formations throughout the Southwest.

My exhibit features images from Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Monument Valley, the Slot Canyons and scenic vistas along the way.
